We predicted a while ago that the worsening financial climate and people’s desire to get back to the days of their childhood holidays, would spark new interest in the caravan and caravan holidays. Well, we at Busy Outdoors were ahead of our time as the Times has just reported the same findings - I hope they didn’t plagiarize our little article!
There has been a 20% rise in camp site bookings for July and August, last year’s appalling weather not seeming to dampen anyone’s enthusiasm for the great outdoors break. Hopefully, this will also lift the gloom hanging over the caravan industry with forecasts of a downturn in sales and reduced investment for this year.
We’ve said it before, and we will say it again - a family camping or caravan holiday in the UK is not only an eco-friendly holiday but also feeds our money back into our industries. We have precious little manufacturing industry left but a very large percentage of caravans are made and bought in the UK - has to be good for everyone.
