The Cycle Touring Club caution cyclists over compensation claims.....
Most cyclists who regularly ride to work or for
pleasure do not have proper insurance cover says recent Times newspaper article. Only
2 per cent of the five million adults who regularly cycle were covered by
a specialist insurance policy.

The Cycle Touring Club has warned cyclists that they could be liable for claims
for compensation if they were unfortunate enough to be involved in an accident. Most
cyclists don't give enough thought to having the correct third party insurance
cover. Many cyclists rely on using household domestic insurance policies
for their third party cover but the small print and exclusions should be
checked as many do not cover road traffic accidents.
Cycling is healthy and safe it is fool hardy to ignore the threat
of legal action in the event of an accident.
