Caravan Nirvana Heading For Birmingham!

National Caravan and Boat Show 2008The 47th National Boat, Caravan and Outdoor Show is bigger than ever spanning six halls of Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre.

The show opens its doors from Tuesday 19th to Sunday 24th February 2008 and will feature hundreds of the latest caravan models from leading manufacturers including Bailey of Bristol, The Explorer Group, The Swift Group, Lunar, Avondale, Coachman, Fleetwood, Adria, Hymer and Eriba. New models and ranges will also be revealed exclusively at the show giving visitors first viewing of all that’s new in the industry.

The Explorer Group will be launching a whole new range of tourers. The introductory level Xplore range offers people who like the outdoors the chance to enjoy caravanning at an affordable price. The new range has five layouts and includes a twin axle model. Explorer will also be showcasing the latest models from the Buccaneer, Compass, Elddis ranges.

The Swift Group will be launching the Swift Conqueror and Sterling Elite. A UK first for tourers with stunning metallic silver sides as opposed to plain white. These eye catching panels are sure to be the talk of the campsite next season! Also launching will be the Sundance and Ace Supreme ranges along with the Abbey Spectrum. There are six new layouts in the Sundance and Ace ranges and five in the E400 range. The two Low-Line models sleep two and are more aerodynamic and fuel efficient. The four High-Line models can sleep between four and six people (depending on the model) and include a large lift-up futon bed with an aluminium frame, sprung beech slats and a 4” thick mattress. The Swift Group is also launching the new Sprite Quattro FB, which is a new twin-axle fixed bed model. Priced under £12,500 the new Sprite offers spacious six berth accommodation.

Bailey of Bristol will be launching two new models at the show. New to the Ranger Series 5 is the 540/6, a unique single-axle, double dinette layout and new end-bedroom configuration that includes a flexible triple bunk arrangement and a larger L-shaped rear saloon. The new Pageant Series 6 has an innovative new layout providing accommodation for up to six people and features a rear fixed double bed with an en-suite corner bathroom.

Fleetwood will be exhibiting nine touring caravans from their 2008 range including Heritage (560-4, 640-EB, 640-ES), Meridien (560-EK, 640-EKB, 560-I) and Sonata Symphony models. Fleetwood will also be offering visitors the chance to win an LCD television and DVD player.

A full range of luxury Hymer tourers will be on display by Lowdham Leisure who will also be showing Freestyle special edition models and launching the new Sportstyle tourers made exclusively for Lowdhams by The Swift Group.

Caravans on displayLunar will be launching the value-led Zenith range as well as showcasing the new six-berth, twin axle Delta TL. This model boasts a twin lounge layout with 6’2” seating at both ends, bunks over rear beds, L shape front option, large side bathroom with separate shower and a host of stylish features. This is an impressive addition to the award winning Clubman ES and Delta range. Also on display is the best-selling Lexon range. With four great layouts to choose from there is something for all those wanting the spacious comfort offered by this range. The Quasar range on display will not fail to disappoint with this mid range selection of fantastic family layouts.

Adria Concessionaires will be launching a new range of Altea Touring Caravans. Visitors will also be able to access information from Fiat, Renault and Alko when visiting the Adria stand

Visitors will be able to research and book their 2008 holidays at the show from thousands of campsites, holiday destinations and tourist boards from across the UK (Cornwall, Somerset, Lake District, Peak District, Wales), France (Loire Valley, Brittany, Aveyron, Atlantic Coast), Spain (Barcelona, Andalusia, Costa Brava, Marbella, Pyranees), Italy (Tuscany, Venice, Sardinia), Portugal, Luxemburg and Switzerland to name but a few! Visitors are invited to rate and recommend sites they have visited at the Caravan Site Finder Internet Café and The Camping and Caravanning Club will be promoting their SiteSeeker and EventSeeker online search facilities.

A huge choice of accessories and gadgets will also be on offer including awnings from leading brands such as Isabella who will be showcasing their brand new porch for 2008 season; Minor Moonlight, RRP 791 with Lightweight CarbonX frame system. Bradcot, Apache, Sunnflair, Sunncamp, Outdoor Revolution and Ventura will also be exhibiting exciting new additions to their ranges.

Towsure will be supplying hundreds of camping products and accessories in the Towsure Accessory Superstore where bargains can be had on outdoor heaters, satellite and TV aerials, mobile mains units, security products, sleeping bags, cleaning chemicals, barbeques and more!

Help and advice for those new to caravanning is on offer by The Caravan Club who will be providing free caravan towing and manoeuvring lessons in the latest Land Rover models at the show under the careful guidance of professional Caravan Club Course Instructors. To book a place visitors should visit The Caravan Club stand (no 4000) with their driving licence.

Towequipe and Bosal will be offering free towbar checks to visitors and will also be fitting towbars bought at the show for a reduced rate.

The best tow cars and 4X4’s will also be on display from Land Rover (Freelander and Range Rover), Volvo (V50, V70, XC70, XC90, C30 and C70) Isuzu (Rodeo) Suburu (Outback, Legacy, Forester and Impressa) Nissan, Mitsubishi and The Caravan Club’s Tow Car of the Year winners.

Those who want to visit the show for more than one day can take advantage of a fully serviced overnight camping facility, which is conveniently located on site near to the NEC halls where the show is taking place (the facility will be administrated by the Camping and Caravanning Club). Electrical hook-ups are available and campers will also benefit from half price admission on their second day visit. To reserve pitches visitors must call 0845 130 7257. There is also a shuttle service running from the campsite to the main entrance of the show, courtesy of Land Rover.

As well as the latest caravans, accessories, 4x4s and tourist destinations, visitors will also be able to discover the latest motorhomes, a huge choice of tents, folding campers, camping equipment, clothing and the shows biggest display of inland and offshore boats.

What’s more, visitors can enter competitons and enjoy a number of free activities including canoeing or kayaking on an indoor pool, climbing the heights of the Nissan Climbing Wall, take archery lessons at the Ibuyeco Archery Academy or try motorcaravanning with The Caravan Club. There will also be plenty of areas to rest and recharge the batteries including the Land Rover Café and The Rummikub Café. The Camping and Caravanning Club Photographic Gallery (the first of its kind at the show) will exhibit the winning images from photographic competitions including some of the UK’s best scenery.
